Treatments explained...

The human body is very clever, when you feel that little niggle or ache, your body adapts and changes its pathways. This reduces the pain that you feel but it creates compensation in other areas and leaves you imbalanced. When it repairs itself, it never does it perfectly, causing issues further down the line.

For example, joint range of motion (ROM) may be decreased following injury.  By using techniques such as joint mobilisation, we can help improve this restriction. ROM is said to increase through promotion of capsular mobility and stretching of shortened fibrous tissues. This can cause the tissue to 'creep' -  the ability to change shape over time as a constant load is applied. Joint mobilisations also have the ability to decrease pain through the 'Gate control theory'. WIN-WIN.

We treat anyone no matter how big or small your injury may feel.

The initial consultation starts with an in-depth conversation in order to collect all the relevant subjective information. An objective assessment is then carried out - this can involve posture analysis, movement screening, range of motion, strength testing and special tests. A clinical impression will then be made from the findings and treatment will be given. The client will leave with an understanding of their dysfunction, treatment given and a full list of exercises prescribed to enable them to continue to improve from home.
